November 10—December 17, 2006
Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm (Nov. 26, Dec. 3, 10, 17), Thursdays at 7:30pm (Nov. 30, Dec. 7, 14) , "Pay What You Will" on 11/17 In this hilarious comedy, a lightweight TV actor bounces back from the cancellation of his frothy TV show by taking on the most challenging role in all of theatre: playing Hamlet in Shakespeare in the Park. When he panics at the prospect of actually appearing live in front of an audience, he’s visited by the ghost of John Barrymore, one of the greatest Hamlets in history. Between bouts of heavy drinking, Barrymore tries to maneuver the man past his agent’s offer of a new TV series for big Hollywood money and ready the man for opening night. A fall-down funny play!
