Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, established himself with this provocative and satisfying drama that ran for almost 500 performances on Broadway, later made into an award-winning film. A rookie Navy lawyer is assigned to defend two Guantanamo-based Marines on trial for the murder of a member of their platoon. Expecting a plea-bargain, he’s prodded to make a stirring effort to defend his clients. The play raises questions on the meaning of individual honor, dignity and humanity in today’s complex military world.
