The hysterical one-man show Fully Committed won the Outer Critics Circle Award and was listed in Time Magazine’s Top 10 Plays of 2000. In the basement of Manhattan’s trendiest and hottest new restaurant, Sam answers the phone and takes the reservations. As the phone begins to ring off the hook, Sam has to juggle a variety of eccentric personalities: from mafia bosses, Wall Street tycoons, innocent tourists, rich old ladies and supermodels with exotic dietary needs to an irritable kitchen staff and an egomaniacal celebrity chef. It’s a frenetic 90-minute circus high-wire act featuring 40 characters and only one actor. Foodies, beware: You may recognize yourself...and still laugh!

" ...searingly funny send-up of negotiated power. It is not necessary to see both actors to appreciate director Argo Thompson's take on the playwright's skewering of status-conscious New York restaurant-goers, megalomaniac chefs, coked-up maitre'ds and anorexic, vegan VIPs. But it makes for a fascinating experiment in theater for any intrepid audience member willing to see how two actors with widely different styles might handle the same role."
—Mark Langton, Marin IJ

"...high-risk theatrical gymnastics is taking place right now at the Barn Theatre, as the Ross Valley Players present the one-man show Fully Committed. The good news is, the actor stays aloft. We care about Sam, the connecting thread, throughout and dislike those who make his life miserable—even though it's all the same guy. That's the key to this performance: it's not about juggling dozens of personalities, it's about maintaining one consistently and giving us a rooting interest."
—Jacob Shafer, Pacific Sun

"Fully Committed closes out RVP’s season in fine style and leaves the audience wanting seconds."
—Rosine Reynolds, The Ark

"Fully Committed a one-man play that you crave to see interpreted many times with different actors. I am still in awe of how an actor can portray so many different characters and continually be able to resort back to his own base character. Both Dan Saski and Justin Scheuer are seasoned actors and they give strikingly different but engrossing renditions of Sam in the play."
—Gary Gruber, ForAllEvents

"....Fully Committed is more than an opportunity to showcase an actor's range and stamina: it is an enjoyable, illuminating comedy in its own right."
—Jeffrey Smith, ForAllEvents, BATCC Member

"The artful symbiosis of physical presentation with text makes this play a fully realized one-man show with multiple characters. Seeing it might even give insight to the poor schlub we next call for a restaurant reservation."
—Albert Goodwyn, San Francisco Bay Times, BATCC Member

"The actor, who plays the main role of Sam, a restaurant reservationist/struggling actor juggling calls from cell phones, land lines, and the restaurant intercom, must also portray the other characters on the other end of the lines. It takes an exceptional skilled performer to attempt this feat. Ross Valley Players has the good fortune to have cast two qualified gifted actors."
—Maria Vrobel, Listen and Be Heard
