Ross Valley Players presents Molière’s “The Miser”
Directed by Bruce Vieira, Translated by David Chambers
Performed January 15 – February 14, 2010
The classic French farce first staged in 1668, The Miser is one of French playwright Molière’s funniest and most enduring plays. Old Harpagon is a penny-pinching miser who loves his hidden fortune more than his children. But when he falls for the same girl as his son, all bets are off as his kids conspire to trick him out of his treasure. Greed, lies, conflict and paranoia: it’s a comedy that’s as timely today as the day it was written.
